Buenos Aires Governor Kicillof opens Morón health centre, criticises Milei

Governor Axel Kicillof inaugurated the new Primary Health Care Centre (CAPS) “Papa Francisco” in Castelar, Morón, on 21 July 2026. The facility, built with a provincial investment of 556 million Argentine pesos, includes four general consultancies, a gynecological and a dental office, a vaccination point, pharmacy, nursing, a medicines dispensary and a multipurpose hall. It will also offer psychology, obstetrics and diabetology services.

The opening was attended by provincial health minister Nicolás Kreplak, infrastructure minister Gabriel Katopodis and Morón mayor Lucas Ghi. Kicillof used the occasion to contrast the provincial approach with the national government, stating that “those who govern today do not recognise the importance of public health” and that President Javier Milei’s policies “came to destroy the State and worsen citizens’ living conditions.” He called the national model “desertion and cruelty” and presented the new centre as concrete evidence that the province can deliver essential services.

Kicillof also warned that many families are “going into debt to buy medicines and pay rent,” underscoring his claim that the provincial administration is working to provide more health, education and social support for vulnerable residents.
