Buenos Aires Health Minister visits San Felipe Hospital amid local dispute

Buenos Aires Province Health Minister Nicolás Kreplak visited the San Felipe Hospital in San Nicolás to address ongoing tensions regarding the facility's management and infrastructure. During the visit, Kreplak criticized the use of health issues for political purposes, stating, “I believe it is an error to do politics with health.”

The visit follows a dispute with local Mayor Santiago Passaglia, who previously criticized the hospital's functioning and suggested transferring its administration to the municipality. Kreplak emphasized the need to strengthen primary care, noting that approximately 90% of the hospital's 3,000 monthly emergency consultations and 6,000 monthly outpatient visits are first-level inquiries that could be managed through primary health services.
