Buenos Aires health ministry conducts unprecedented sanitary flight from Jujuy

The Ministry of Health of the Buenos Aires Province conducted an unprecedented sanitary flight to transport two survivors from Jujuy to La Plata. The patients, a father and son aged 60 and 37, were victims of a tragic vehicle accident on August 16 at Cuesta del Lipán, where their vehicle fell over an 80-meter cliff. The accident resulted in the deaths of two women.

The aeroevacuation, managed by the Directorate of Emergency Management, occurred on Saturday, August 22. The Gran Caravan aircraft arrived in Jujuy at 13:30 and landed in La Plata at 20:30. The survivors, who suffered multiple musculoskeletal traumas and fractures, were transferred to Rossi Hospital and San Martín Hospital for specialized treatment. Authorities noted the operation was one of the most complex medical flights performed by the province due to the distance and clinical requirements.
