Buenos Aires highlights urban heritage through tours and museum updates

Buenos Aires is seeing a renewed focus on its architectural and urban heritage through both specialized tours and museum exhibitions. Initiatives like ‘Miradores’ offer guided walks led by architects or urban planners, exploring the city's diverse styles ranging from French academicism to rationalism and brutalism.

Simultaneously, the Museo de la Ciudad has unveiled a renovated general exhibition at its Altos de Elorriaga site. The updated display features over 100 previously unseen pieces from its collection. The new itinerary includes a section dedicated to the archaeological heritage of the Historic District and a focus on urban transformations since 1950, such as the rise of apartment living, highway construction, and the development of sustainable mobility and public spaces like Puerto Madero.
