Buenos Aires independent theater presents 'Ignífugo' and 'No me dejes en Belén

Playwright and actor Fernando Zabala's drama "Ignífugo" continues its third consecutive season at Alma Zenna Teatro in Buenos Aires, with performances every Sunday in June 2026. The piece explores internal ghosts and broken love through the story of Juan, a protagonist whose mind becomes a stage for psychological tension. Zabala, a veteran of more than ten productions across Argentine provinces and abroad, also works as a columnist and educator.

Meanwhile, "No me dejes en Belén," written and directed by Agustín Meneses, runs on Saturdays at the Espacio Callejón venue. Set on the eve of Christmas in a rural‑inspired community, the play follows a family coping with impending loss, the return of Mila, a trans woman from the capital, and the complex dynamics that emerge. The ensemble includes Dana Basso, Cecile Caillon, Eug Krla, Julieta Raponi and Federico Buso, with video cameos by Florencia Raggi and Matías Broglia. Both productions highlight contemporary Argentine independent theater's focus on personal identity, social issues, and experimental storytelling.
