Buenos Aires launches Semana de los Bodegones Porteños
The Semana de los Bodegones Porteños has launched in Buenos Aires, an initiative organized by the City Government and the Association of Hotels, Restaurants, Confectioneries, and Cafes (AHRCC). The event aims to highlight the city's traditional culinary heritage, featuring over 100 establishments offering discounts and special promotions through Friday the 28th.
Participants can use a digital map to locate participating venues and a QR code system to access the 'Pasaporte Bodegón Porteño,' which allows visitors to complete missions and trivia to engage with the local gastronomic tradition. City Government Chief Jorge Macri stated that the initiative seeks to boost economic development within neighborhoods by supporting the bodegones, which he described as a central part of the city's gastronomic chain.
In addition to traditional venues, the event also includes 'neobodegones,' which reinterpret classic dishes and aesthetics through a contemporary lens. The culinary scene in the city is characterized by a blend of Spanish, Italian, and local Creole influences, reflecting the historical immigrant roots of the region.
