Buenos Aires legislators seek to protect Plaza Armenia from underground parking project
A new project presented in the Buenos Aires City Legislature seeks to permanently exclude Plaza Armenia, located in the Palermo neighborhood, from a government plan to develop underground parking systems.
The proposal, introduced by legislator Emmanuel Ferrario and co-authored by several others, aims to modify Resolution 315/MDECGC/25. This resolution had previously incorporated the green space into the city's underground parking network following a private initiative by the company E-ARG S.R.L. The project argues that the plaza should be formally protected from such urban planning to preserve the local green space, responding to ongoing conflicts with neighbors and environmental organizations.
