Buenos Aires Legislature approves regularization regime for neighborhood clubs

The Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires has granted initial approval to a bill establishing a Special Regime for the Adaptation and Regularization of neighborhood clubs. The project, which received 53 affirmative votes, aims to facilitate the administrative, building, urban, and functional regularization of local sports, recreational, and social institutions.

Key provisions of the initiative include a plan for the progressive improvement of safety, hygiene, and infrastructure, alongside a simplified administrative procedure. The regime proposes the forgiveness of non-tax fines, surcharges, and interests related to missing permits or documentation. Additionally, it offers access to preferential credit lines through Banco Ciudad to fund necessary works. The bill also introduces a ‘positive silence’ mechanism, where institutions automatically receive the benefits of the regime if the applying authority does not respond within 60 business days.
