Buenos Aires Legislature calls public hearing to rename Retiro street after Alberto Nisman

The Buenos Aires City Legislature has called for a public hearing on October 20 to discuss a proposal to rename a section of Combate de Costa Brava street in the Retiro neighborhood. If approved, the stretch between Letonia street and Comodoro Py avenue would be renamed ‘Fiscal Alberto Nisman’.

The project, identified as File 550-D-2026, has received initial approval and was published in the Official Gazette of the City of Buenos Aires on September 4. The change is not yet final and requires the public hearing and a subsequent vote by legislators. The proposal seeks to honor Alberto Nisman, the prosecutor who led the investigation into the AMIA bombing before his death in January 2015.
