Buenos Aires man arrested for impersonating police officer

A 48-year-old man was arrested in the Caballito neighborhood of Buenos Aires for impersonating an officer of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police. The arrest was made by the City Police after officers noticed a dark Renault Duster driving with blue emergency lights, similar to those used by unidentified police vehicles.

Upon checking the vehicle's registration, authorities discovered it was not an official police unit. During the subsequent interception, the suspect claimed to be a member of the provincial force but could not provide credentials. Inside the vehicle, officers found police clothing, including a shirt labeled ‘Fuerzas Especiales GAD-Instructor’, a ballistic vest, a metal Buenos Aires Provincial Police badge, and various weapons including air gun replicas, knives, tonfas, and shotgun cartridges.

The suspect reportedly has a prior conviction for threats involving weapons.
