Buenos Aires Ministry of Transport outlines fluvial development policies

The Buenos Aires Ministry of Transport presented its fluvial development policies at the International Port Fair 2026 in Mar del Plata. Subsecretary Sandra Mayol detailed ongoing efforts to enhance mobility, connectivity, and safety for residents of the Argentine Delta.

Key initiatives include the planning, regulation, and inspection of river services connecting the districts of Escobar, San Fernando, and Tigre. The Ministry manages vessel routes and schedules to ensure reliable transport for work and education.

To support local residents, the province utilizes the SUBE electronic ticketing system to implement subsidized fares, and provides free fluvial school transport in coordination with the Directorate General of Culture and Education. Additionally, the Ministry maintains permanent offices and delegations to handle inquiries and complaints from island residents.
