Buenos Aires municipalities join gender violence support program

Governor Axel Kicillof and Minister of Women and Diversity Estela Díaz have led an initiative for several municipalities in the Province of Buenos Aires to join the Program for Strengthening the Exit from Gender Violence.

The program is designed to support women and LGBTIQ+ individuals facing gender-based violence. It provides direct economic assistance for six months alongside specialized accompaniment to foster autonomy. Support services include job training, educational completion, legal advice, mental health services, housing assistance, and integration into cooperative work.

During the signing ceremonies, Kicillof emphasized the state's commitment to gender policies, contrasting provincial efforts with the national government's approach. Participating municipalities include Ituzaingó, Las Flores, Avellaneda, Bahía Blanca, La Plata, and several others.
