Buenos Aires opens DRAMIA cultural centre as Rafaela launches 21st theatre festival

The City of Buenos Aires added a new multidisciplinary venue, DRAMIA Centro Cultural, in the Chacarita neighbourhood. The space, directed by actress and director Laura González, opened on 7 August with a two‑and‑a‑half‑hour program featuring murga, circus, photography, audiovisual projections, open‑mic performances and a community toast. Facilities include a streaming room, bar, terrace and restored mural.

Meanwhile, the Festival del Teatro de Rafaela (FTR) held its 21st edition in Santa Fe province, presenting 18 productions across 32 performances over four days. Artistic director Gustavo Mondino noted budget constraints due to the national economic crisis but emphasized a diverse lineup from Rafaela, Rosario, Buenos Aires, Córdoba and other provinces. The festival also featured workshops, labs and a special programme in the town of Suardi.
