Buenos Aires opens new SAME emergency base in Liniers

The City of Buenos Aires inaugurated its 32nd strategic SAME (Sistema de Atención Médica de Emergencias) base in the Liniers neighbourhood, located at Pilar 950 near the guard post and the helipad of Hospital Santojanni. The facility operates 24 hours a day year‑round and is linked directly to the central SAME command and the city’s line 107 medical‑emergency service. It includes two rooms, two bathrooms, a staff lounge and an office for radio‑operators.

City Mayor Jorge Macri, Health Minister Fernán Quirós and SAME director Alberto Crescenti highlighted that the new base will improve response times for “red‑code” calls, which already average under five minutes, by providing a faster dispatch point for ambulances in the western part of the city. With the addition, the city's emergency network now comprises 10 hospital bases, 22 extra‑hospital bases, three helipads and 11 helicopter landing sites, staffed by more than 1,300 personnel and 110 vehicles.
