Buenos Aires pet shop raid uncovers nine‑drug synthetic mixture

Police and prosecutors in Buenos Aires uncovered an unprecedented blend of nine synthetic psychoactive substances during a raid on a pet shop in the Boedo neighbourhood. The operation, led by the Unidad Fiscal Especializada en la Investigación de Delitos vinculados con Estupefacientes (UFEIDE) and the Cuerpo de Investigaciones Judiciales (CIJ), seized 15 cartridges containing the mixture, 57.9 g of ketamine, MDA pills, LSD cartridges and $3,600 in cash. Laboratory analysis identified amphetamine, dimethoxyanfetamine, methamphetamine, MDA, MDMA, the synthetic hallucinogen 25‑E‑NBOH, ketamine, aminopirine and caffeine, a combination that makes effects unpredictable and medical treatment difficult.

The finding prompted the CIJ to issue an alert to the national early‑warning system and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Fiscal Cecilia Amil Martín ordered the detention of the suspect, who faces charges of aggravated drug trafficking. Authorities warned that the mixture poses extreme health risks, including cardiovascular complications, hyperthermia, seizures and severe intoxication.
