La Bayadera ballet returns to Teatro Lírico in Buenos Aires

The Ballet Clásico del Parque del Conocimiento will stage the classic ballet La Bayadera at the Teatro Lírico on 7, 8 and 14 August at 20:00. Admission is granted in exchange for a non‑perishable food donation for the parish of Jesús Misericordioso. The production, created entirely at the Parque del Conocimiento, features more than 30 artists, music by Ludwig Minkus, a libretto by Sergei Judekov and choreography by Mario Silva based on Marius Petipa’s original. The story follows the temple‑dedicated bayadera Nikiya and the warrior Solor amid love, ambition and betrayal, climaxing in the famed “Kingdom of Shadows” scene. Over 90 specially made costumes, seven scenic curtains, elaborate lighting and set design were prepared for the performance. Administrative coordination is overseen by Martha Laclau with artistic direction by Mario Silva.
