Buenos Aires prison inmates provide goods to local schools

Inmates within the Buenos Aires provincial prison system are participating in vocational training programs that provide goods to local schools. Through the ECOS Program, managed by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, individuals at the Unidad 18 Gorina prison manufactured percussion instrument kits using recycled materials, such as MDF scraps. These kits, which include items like rain sticks and tambourines, were delivered to educational institutions in Quilmes and La Matanza.

Separately, in the Dolores district, inmates at Unidad 6 of the Servicio Penitenciario Bonaerense have been restoring school furniture. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Dolores School Council, aims to teach repair skills to facilitate future social and labor reintegration while providing necessary resources to local schools. An initial batch of 14 restored chairs has already been delivered.
