Buenos Aires Province approves permanent status for temporary state workers

The government of Buenos Aires Province has approved a procedure to transition temporary state employees to permanent status. This measure, formalized through Resolution 84/2026 by the Subsecretariat of Management and Public Employment, fulfills a commitment made during collective bargaining negotiations with state unions.

The transition applies to two specific groups of monthly-paid workers: those designated as transitory under Law 10.430 and those under the temporary plant of Law 12.268. To qualify, employees must have been appointed between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, and must remain in their roles throughout 2026 while meeting all legal requirements.

Personnel departments within each ministry or agency will be responsible for verifying documentation, which must be current when uploaded to the Employee Portal. The resolution establishes general guidelines and decree models to unify the process across all government bodies during 2026.
