Buenos Aires Province creates advisory council for therapeutic cannabis

The provincial government of Buenos Aires established a new advisory council within the Ministry of Health to advise on policies related to therapeutic cannabis. The council will be composed of specialists, academic institutions, NGOs, health professionals and other stakeholders and will operate under the Directorate of Prevention of Non‑Communicable Diseases.

The body is intended to provide permanent technical advice, support the design and implementation of the Provincial Therapeutic Cannabis Program approved in 2025, and ensure alignment with national Law 27.350. All members will serve on a voluntary, unpaid basis, and the council will not generate additional expenses for the province.
