Buenos Aires Province establishes river passenger transport registry

The Ministry of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires, led by Martín Marinucci, has created the Provincial Registry of River Passenger Transport Services (R.P.S.T.F.P.). This initiative aims to unify information regarding service providers and vessels operating within provincial jurisdictional waters to improve planning, organization, and oversight.

The registry is particularly vital for the connectivity of Delta communities, where river transport is essential for daily activities. The measure requires a one-time mandatory registration for regular, provisional, and specialized service providers, as well as the vessels used in these services.

Implementation will be managed by the Undersecretariat of Air and River Transport, headed by Sandra Mayol. The department plans to incorporate digital tools and electronic domiciles to simplify administrative procedures. Providers who are already authorized will have an exceptional 60-day period to register once the computer system becomes operational.
