Buenos Aires Province expands environmental programs with forest‑conservation funding and public project review

The Ministry of Environment of Buenos Aires Province, led by Minister Daniela Vilar, launched a 2026 call for producers and landowners with native forest. The program provides technical and financial assistance to prepare conservation and management plans required by national law 26.331 and provincial law 14.888. It is the third outreach, aims to regularise land use, protect soil and water, and imposes sanctions on unauthorised interventions. The deadline for plan submissions is 18 August 2026.

In a separate initiative, the same ministry opened a public consultation for the Tecsidir S.A. project in the Partido of Nueve de Julio. The process, part of the environmental impact assessment for a Declaration of Environmental Impact, includes three stages: information access, submission of observations until 24 July, and incorporation of comments into the final technical analysis. The consultation follows provincial and national environmental statutes and the Escazú regional treaty, ensuring community input before the authority’s final decision.
