Buenos Aires Province initiates 2026 horticultural census
The government of Buenos Aires Province will launch the Horticultural Census 2026 to update data on horticulture and floriculture production after a 20‑year gap. The field operation begins on 1 September 2026 and will run for 60 days, with a possible one‑month extension to reach all respondents.
The census is a joint effort of the Ministry of Agricultural Development, led by Minister Javier Rodríguez, and the Ministry of Economy, headed by Minister Pablo López. They said the survey will cover more than 100 municipalities, involving 147 enumerators, 26 supervisors and additional coordinators, zone chiefs, trainers, analysts and a GIS specialist. The data will inform public policies aimed at improving production, commercialization and food‑security strategies in the province.
