Buenos Aires Province launches housing and protection initiatives

Authorities in the Buenos Aires Province have launched new initiatives to provide housing and protection for vulnerable populations. In Melchor Romero, Governor Axel Kicillof and La Plata Mayor Julio Alak oversaw the delivery of 175 new homes. These residences are specifically designated for women victims of gender-based violence and individuals discharged from the Alejandro Korn mental health hospital.

In a separate development, the municipality of Patagones inaugurated the ‘Patricia Ilgner’ Protection House. Named after a femicide victim, the facility is designed to offer safety, containment, and support for women and their children facing violence. The project was made possible through the availability of municipal housing and was attended by local officials, including Mayor Ricardo Marino and Provincial Senator Ayelén Durán.
