Buenos Aires Province libertarian bloc fails to exchange leadership roles

In the Buenos Aires provincial legislature, the Libertad Avanza bloc could not complete the planned swap of its block chief Agustín Romo with first vice‑president of the Chamber Juan Osaba. The agreement collapsed during a special IOMA session, leaving the leadership exchange stalled.

The internal dynamics of the 20‑member bloc remain split, with a majority aligned to Sebastián Pareja and smaller factions supporting other leaders. Romo continues as block head, while Osaba expressed his frustration through a humorous Instagram reel featuring the Backstreet Boys.

The failed role swap highlights ongoing power balancing within the libertarian party ahead of the 2027 elections.
