Buenos Aires relaunches public radio concession tender

Buenos Aires Chief of Government Jorge Macri has relaunched the bidding process to concession the management of two public radio stations, La Once Diez AM 1110 and La 2x4 FM 92.7, for a five-year term.

The new tender, published in the Official Gazette, separates the two stations into individual items. This change allows companies to bid for a single station or both, a strategic adjustment following a previous attempt that failed after no offers were received when the stations were bundled together.

The base monthly fee for each station is set at $1.53 million pesos. Bids are scheduled to open on September 28 via the Buenos Aires Compras system. This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the city administration to reduce public spending.

This follows the recent adjudication of Canal de la Ciudad to Cale Group, a company owned by businessman Augusto Marini, which secured a five-year concession with an initial monthly fee of $50 million pesos.
