Buenos Aires road safety training and Ibero‑American media seminar aim to curb traffic accidents

On a midday at the San Cayetano Socio‑Productive Development Center, the Buenos Aires provincial Ministry of Transport held a road‑safety training session for police, traffic inspectors and urban guard members. Municipal mayor María José Gentile and transport minister Martín Marinucci led the event, which distributed 25 bicycles, helmets and motorcycle helmets to local security forces as part of the province’s “Siempre Casco” campaign promoting mandatory helmet use.

A separate online seminar, scheduled for 29 May, will gather Ibero‑American journalists, communicators and social‑organization representatives. Organized by Karina Winckler of CIUDAD TV, the session “Hacia una Narrativa Vial Humana y Segura” will provide tools for empathetic, public‑health‑focused reporting on traffic accidents, emphasizing human dignity and safety.

Both initiatives seek to improve road‑safety culture through education, equipment provision and more responsible media coverage.
