Buenos Aires safety complaints trigger repairs on Ruta 65, Ruta 226

Councilor César Pacho of the La Libertad Avanza bloc in Bolívar asked Governor Axel Kicillof to order an immediate, comprehensive repair of the deteriorated Ruta Provincial 65, warning that the road’s poor condition poses a permanent risk to drivers, workers and families and noting that local residents have long complained about the issue.

In the city of Tandil, Mayor Miguel Lunghi criticised the national government's repaving of the roundabouts on Ruta Nacional 226, saying the work missed an opportunity to redesign the intersections for better safety. Local traffic studies show about 41,000 vehicles use the main roundabout each day, and the municipality had proposed geometry changes, but the project proceeded only with surface repairs, leaving safety concerns unaddressed.

Both incidents highlight ongoing road‑safety concerns and tensions between local authorities and provincial or national road agencies in the Buenos Aires province.
