Buenos Aires schools suspend students after AI‑generated fake nude photos circulated

Students at the Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires and the Escuela Superior de Comercio Carlos Pellegrini were accused of using artificial‑intelligence tools to create and sell digitally altered images that depicted their classmates naked. The alleged perpetrators, aged 13‑14, shared the files through a WhatsApp group and reportedly offered them for up to 1,000 pesos each.

The schools, both affiliated with the University of Buenos Aires, placed the accused students on suspension, activated their gender‑based violence protocols, and coordinated with the city’s Line 102, the Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents, and university authorities. They also announced measures such as counselling, parental outreach, stricter control of mobile device use on campus, and digital‑citizenship workshops to prevent further incidents.
