Buenos Aires Senate debates female labor quota for construction

The Buenos Aires Senate is reviewing a legislative proposal to mandate a minimum 10% female workforce quota in all construction projects across the province. Introduced by Senator María Fernanda Raverta of Fuerza Patria, the initiative aims to increase female representation in all roles, including field operations, technical areas, supervision, and management.

During a meeting of the Commission for Real Equality of Treatment and Opportunities and Disability, delegates from the UOCRA union in Mar del Plata shared their personal experiences regarding the difficulties of working in a traditionally male-dominated sector. They emphasized the need for concrete tools to expand job opportunities for women. Following the testimonies, senators decided to keep the project under study to further analyze its scope and implications.
