Buenos Aires stages new Shakespeare‑inspired productions
The solo show "Pequeño William" returns to the Teatro del Pueblo in Buenos Aires, opening on Saturday 8 August at 21:30. Written by Adriana Tursiy and directed by Tatiana Santana, the production stars Sebastián Pajoni, who performs twelve characters in a contemporary reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
A second Shakespeare‑themed play, "Con los ojos de ahora," premieres at El Galpón de Guevara. Written by Marcos Arano Forteza with Noah Dobin‑Bernstein and directed by Arano Forteza, the comedy follows a theatre director and his daughter stranded in a remote Argentine town as they attempt to stage The Tempest, mixing humor, social critique and local references.
