Buenos Aires suburbs thwart home invasion attempts

In Banfield, a man and his stepson shouted loudly when two armed assailants tried to force their way into the home. The suspects, startled by the cries that could alert neighbors, abandoned the break‑in and fled, taking only a chicken that was in the victim’s bag. No arrests have been reported.

In the nearby San Carlos district of La Plata, the homeowner responded to a similar attempted entry by firing several shots. The gunfire forced the two young thieves on bicycles to run away. Residents say the incident is part of a pattern of frequent and increasingly violent attempts, and they have complained about insufficient police patrols.

Both episodes were captured on domestic security cameras, highlighting growing concerns over neighborhood safety in the Buenos Aires province.
