Buenos Aires theater season presents 'El mal querer' and 'Estos pequeños libros

The Buenos Aires theatrical lineup this season includes two new productions. "El mal querer," directed by Juanse Rauch, revisits early‑20th‑century medical theories that pathologised homosexuality. Set in a fictional medical lecture hall, the play mixes comedy and 3‑D staging to critique historic anti‑LGBTQ attitudes. The production features performers such as Lucía Adúriz and Manuel di Francesco and is being staged at several local venues.

Cynthia Edul’s "Estos pequeños libros que quedan" offers a poetic exploration of a mother‑daughter relationship anchored around a lost book in a living library. Staged by Paraíso Club with Arthaus, the drama stars Mónica Raiola, Ignacio Sánchez Mestre and Agustina Muñoz. The piece blends autobiographical elements with a broader commentary on women’s histories, and includes original music by Guillermina Etkin and design by Paola Delgado.
