Buenos Aires to host animation and AI film festivals

Buenos Aires will host two significant audiovisual events in late October 2026. The 12th edition of the Bitbang International Animation Festival will take place from October 27 to 31, celebrating twelve years of promoting animation, video games, and digital art in Argentina.

Additionally, the city will host the first WAIFF Buenos Aires festival on October 30 as part of TecWeek 2026. Organized by the Ministry of Economic Development, this event focuses on the intersection of cinema and artificial intelligence. The festival includes a competition for Argentine creators to submit works created entirely with AI or hybrid productions. Five selected works will represent Argentina in the 'Road to Cannes' circuit, leading toward the WAIFF World Grand Final in Cannes.
