Buffalo Bills expand practice squad and manage cornerback competition
The Buffalo Bills have finalized several roster moves following the NFL's initial 53-man roster cuts. The team added players to its practice squad, including quarterback Shane Buechel, running back Frank Gore Jr., and several wide receivers and defensive backs. Due to the presence of international player Travis Clayton, the Bills are permitted to carry up to 17 players on their practice squad, exceeding the standard 16-player limit.
On the defensive side, head coach Joe Brady and general manager Brandon Beane are managing a competition for the starting cornerback position. While Maxwell Hairston is currently designated as the starter, rookie Davison Igbinosun’s progress and Hairston’s recent groin injury have prompted discussions regarding a potential timeshare in the upcoming season opener against the Houston Texans.
