Buffalo Bills sign veteran nose tackle Greg Gaines

The Buffalo Bills have signed veteran nose tackle and Super Bowl champion Greg Gaines to bolster their defensive line depth. Gaines, a 6-foot-1, 312-pound defensive lineman, joins the team after spending the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gaines brings significant experience to the roster, having made 34 career starts and playing a key role in the Los Angeles Rams' Super Bowl victory following the 2021 season. His addition addresses a critical need for a veteran rotational piece in the Bills' defensive front.

The move comes as the team manages depth concerns behind rising star Deone Walker. The Bills' defensive line rotation faces challenges due to DeWayne Carter transitioning to a new two-gapping role and Phidarian Mathis serving a three-game suspension at the start of the season.
