Buffalo Bills to replace grass field at new stadium

The Buffalo Bills have announced plans to replace the grass field at their new $2.2 billion stadium. The decision follows a preseason game on August 15 against the Carolina Panthers, where the original field was unable to withstand the rigors of NFL play.

Bills president of business operations Pete Guelli stated that the team is committed to providing the best possible playing surface for players. The re-sodding process is scheduled to begin on Monday to ensure the field is ready for the first regular-season home game against the Detroit Lions on September 17.

This marks a significant transition for the franchise, which played on artificial surfaces for 53 seasons at the adjacent Ralph Wilson Stadium. The last time the team played home games on a grass field was in 1972.
