Buffalo Bills top AFC executive poll ahead of 2026 season

A poll of six NFL executives conducted by The Athletic ranks the Buffalo Bills as the top team in the AFC heading into the 2026 season. The Denver Broncos secured the second spot in the rankings, receiving one first-place vote and two second-place votes.

Following the Bills and Broncos, the Houston Texans are ranked third, New England fourth, and Baltimore fifth. Other top-10 teams include the Chiefs, Bengals, Chargers, Jaguars, and Steelers, while the Dolphins were ranked last in the conference.

Executives noted the strength of the Broncos under head coach Sean Payton, citing their defense, the health of quarterback Bo Nix, and the addition of playmaker Jaylen Waddle as key factors for their high standing.
