Buffalo defeats UMass 25-18 in overtime

Buffalo defeated UMass 25-18 in overtime on Saturday. Jason Wright threw two touchdown passes to Clint Walker, including a 15-yard pass during the first possession of overtime that secured the lead.

UMass held an 18-15 lead late in the fourth quarter following a 53-yard field goal by Derek Morris. However, Buffalo responded with a 29-yard field goal by Oliver Hautanen with two seconds remaining to force the overtime period.

Buffalo's Messiah Burch recorded a career-high 172 rushing yards, while Wright completed 16 of 35 passes for 134 yards. For UMass, Logan Inagawa threw for 168 yards, and Elijah Faulkner rushed for 84 yards. The victory extends Buffalo's 2-0 record in the Flagship Cup.
