Buffalo Sabres forward Jason Zucker expected to miss start of season

Buffalo Sabres forward Jason Zucker is expected to miss the beginning of the regular season following offseason sports hernia surgery. General manager Jarmo Kekalainen indicated that Zucker could potentially miss the first two weeks of play.

Defenseman Louis Crevier, acquired in the trade involving Bowen Byram, is also recovering from shoulder surgery. While he will miss the start of training camp, Kekalainen expects him to be ready for the season opener on October 1.

Additionally, center Justin Danforth is expected to participate in training camp. Danforth recently underwent a procedure to address cartilage issues following a kneecap injury sustained last season.
