Buffalo Sabres goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen addresses trade rumors

Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has addressed ongoing trade speculation following reports that the Winnipeg Jets traded star goalie Connor Hellebuyck to the New Jersey Devils.

Luukkonen acknowledged the intensity of recent rumors, noting that while he tries to avoid social media, the noise is difficult to escape. Despite receiving public support from Sabres general manager Jarmo Kekalainen, Luukkonen expressed a realistic view of professional sports, stating, “In the end, it’s you’re always available for getting moved.”

Previously, the Sabres were reportedly pursuing Hellebuyck in a potential deal that might have involved Luukkonen moving to Winnipeg or another team. With Hellebuyck now headed to New Jersey, analysts suggest the likelihood of Luukkonen being traded has decreased, as Buffalo's pursuit was specifically centered on acquiring Hellebuyck.
