Buffalo Sabres Noah Ostlund NHL contract extension eight-year deal

The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Noah Ostlund to an eight-year contract extension worth $52.8 million. The deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $6.6 million and includes a modified no-trade clause for the final four seasons.

Ostlund, 22, is currently completing his entry-level contract. With this extension, he is committed to Buffalo through the 2035 season. The signing occurs just before a new collective bargaining agreement takes effect, which is expected to limit maximum contract lengths for existing players to seven years.

Ostlund, a former first-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, recorded 11 goals and 27 points in 60 games during his rookie season. Sabres coach Lindy Ruff has previously praised the player's positional awareness and reliability.
