Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac lets enthusiast drive Tourbillon prototype
Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac recently allowed a car enthusiast, Freddie Atkins, to drive and accelerate a development prototype of the new Bugatti Tourbillon. The event, captured on video, showcased the vehicle's V16 engine as the enthusiast tested the acceleration.
The Tourbillon is a limited-production hybrid hypercar with only 250 units planned for manufacture. It features an 8.3-liter atmospheric V16 engine producing 1,000 CV, supplemented by three electric motors that add another 800 CV, resulting in a combined total of 1,800 CV. The vehicle includes a 25 kWh battery capable of providing over 60 kilometers of electric-only range.
Estimated prices for the Tourbillon are between 3.5 and 4.5 million euros. The model has undergone testing in extreme conditions, including high temperatures in Spain and cold climates in Sweden.
