Bugatti unveils Destrier hypercar, one‑off based on Bolide, debuting at Monterey Car Week

Bugatti has revealed the Destrier, the third one‑off model from its ultra‑exclusive Programme Solitaire. Built on the carbon‑fiber monocoque of the track‑focused Bolide, the car retains the 8.0‑litre quad‑turbo W16 engine delivering 1 600 hp while shedding the Bolide’s aggressive aerodynamic appendages.

The Destrier stands just one metre tall, making it the lowest Bugatti ever produced, and is fitted with 20‑inch front and 21‑inch rear wheels. Its bodywork is finished in a bespoke Sapphire Celeste paint that references the historic Type 57SC Atlantic, and the interior combines brown leather, nubuck and a 3‑D‑knitted fabric with copper threads, evoking a high‑fashion atelier. The name “Destrier” – a medieval warhorse – reflects the car’s sculptural intent rather than pure performance.

Bugatti will present the Destrier publicly at the Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach, California, in August 2026. Pricing has not been disclosed, but the vehicle is expected to command a multi‑million‑euro price, following the eight‑figure sales of the previous Solitaire creations.
