Bugatti unveils Destrier one‑off hypercar at Monterey Car Week

Bugatti introduced the Destrier, the third one‑off vehicle from its ultra‑exclusive Programme Solitaire, at Monterey Car Week 2026 in California. Built on the carbon‑fiber monocoque of the track‑focused Bolide, the Destrier retains the 8.0‑litre quad‑turbo W16 engine that delivers 1 600 hp (1 177 kW) and a top speed over 400 km/h. The car is just under one metre tall, making it the lowest Bugatti ever produced, and rides on 20‑inch front and 21‑inch rear wheels. Its bespoke Sapphire Celeste paint references the historic Type 57 SC Atlantic, while the design strips away the Bolide’s wings and aerodynamic add‑ons, presenting a pure sculptural silhouette. Design director Frank Heyl said, “Destrier is not a car you understand with your head; it is a car you feel with your heart.” The one‑off is expected to sell for a multi‑million‑euro price, continuing Bugatti’s tradition of bespoke, ultra‑high‑performance hypercars.
