Bugatti unveils Destrier one-off hypercar at Monterey Car Week

Bugatti has unveiled the Destrier, a unique one-off hypercar, during Monterey Car Week at The Quail. The vehicle is the third creation from Programme Solitaire, Bugatti’s ultra-exclusive coachbuilding program designed for bespoke commissions.

Built upon the technical foundation of the track-only Bolide, the Destrier utilizes the same carbon-fiber monocoque and quad-turbocharged W16 engine, producing 1,578 horsepower. While the Bolide focuses on extreme aerodynamics and lap times, the Destrier reinterprets those mechanics into a more sculptural, road-oriented grand tourer. Key design changes include the removal of large external aerodynamic wings in favor of an integrated rear spoiler and a cleaner, more elegant silhouette.

The car features a distinctive ‘Sapphire Celeste’ paint finish and stands just 39.4 inches tall, making it the lowest model in Bugatti’s history. The interior departs from the stripped-back racing cockpit of the Bolide, instead utilizing luxury materials such as leather, Nubuck suede, and 3D-knitted fabrics to create a high-end atmosphere. The vehicle was developed in direct collaboration between Bugatti’s design team and a private collector.
