Bugatti unveils Destrier one‑off hypercar, the brand’s lowest model
Bugatti has revealed the Destrier, the third unique car from its Programme Solitaire series. Built on the carbon‑fiber monocoque of the track‑only Bolide, the Destrier stands just one metre tall – the lowest Bugatti ever – and is fitted with 20‑inch front and 21‑inch rear wheels. The design strips away the Bolide’s wings, vents and other aerodynamic add‑ons, focusing on pure proportions and a sculptural aesthetic inspired by the historic Type 57 lineage. The car is finished in a bespoke “Sapphire Celeste” paint that contains a diamond‑like sparkle, and it retains the Bolide’s 8.0‑litre quad‑turbo W16 engine delivering roughly 1 600 PS. Frank Heyl, Bugatti’s director of design, said the model “is not a car you understand with your head, it is a car you feel with your heart.” Pricing is expected to be in the multi‑million‑euro range. The Destrier will make its public debut at Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August 2026.
