Bugojno commemorates 837th anniversary of the Charter of Ban Kulin

The municipality of Bugojno, in collaboration with the Bosnian Academic Society of Austria, hosted a commemoration marking the 837th anniversary of the Charter of Ban Kulin. The event emphasized the historical document's significance in fostering international good neighborly relations and its relevance to the modern geopolitical context of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Former President of Croatia and the former Presidency of Yugoslavia, Stjepan Mesić, attended as a special guest. During his speech, Mesić highlighted the importance of preserving Bosnia and Herzegovina as a land of both diversity and unity, noting that peace must be actively built through dialogue and cooperation. In recognition of his contributions to regional democracy, Mesić was awarded a municipal plaque by Mayor Edin Mašić.

Security expert Professor Ahmed Kico discussed the Charter's role as a safeguard for state continuity against external pressures. The ceremony also included academic contributions from Siradj Duhan of the Bosnian Academic Society of Austria and honored Ensar Druško, a top-performing student in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for his academic achievements.
