Buharkent to host 6th Hill Climb Race during liberation anniversary
The 6th Buharkent Hill Climb Race is scheduled to take place on September 5-6, 2026, as part of the 104th Liberation Anniversary celebrations in Buharkent. This event serves as the fourth leg of the AVIS Türkiye Hill Climb Championship.
A total of 12 pilots will compete across various categories on the Kayaburnu-Ericek route. Competitors include İlker Aktaş, Muhammet Demirel, and Akdem Özsoy in the K1 category; Tuna Muhtar, Metehan Güleç, Haşim Şahin Çalışkan, Yiğit Sercan Yalçın, Burçe Muhtar, Hakan Akman, and Efecan Ünlü in the K2 and K3 categories; and Sinan Soylu and Şevket Çınar in the K4 category.
The event begins with a ceremonial start on Saturday, September 5, at 17:30 in front of the Municipality on Atatürk Avenue. The main racing action will commence on Sunday, September 6, at 10:00, followed by an award ceremony at 16:00 in Cumhuriyet Square. Buharkent Mayor Mehmet Erol has invited citizens to attend the festivities.
