Bui Ngoc Bich Phuong named chair of Vietnam's Hai Au Aviation

Bui Ngoc Bich Phuong, 31, was appointed legal representative and chair of the board of Hai Au Aviation on 6 March 2026, succeeding Tran Trong Minh. The appointment was disclosed in Techcombank's semi‑annual governance report for 2026, which also identified Phuong as the daughter‑in‑law of Techcombank chairman Ho Hung Anh.

Hai Au Aviation, founded in 2011 and a member of the Thien Minh Group, pioneered seaplane tourism in Vietnam, operating tours over Ha Long Bay. The company moved its headquarters from Quang Ninh to Hanoi in 2017 and has raised its charter capital several times, most recently to VND 245 billion in 2018. In addition to her role at Hai Au Aviation, Phuong serves as chief executive officer of Masterise Retail Hanoi.

The leadership change highlights the close family ties between the aviation firm and the banking sector, linking Hai Au Aviation to the broader business interests of Ho Hung Anh and the Thien Minh Group.
