33‑year‑old builder arrested for killing 73‑year‑old kiosk owner in Lanús

Police arrested a 33‑year‑old construction worker on homicide charges after the body of 73‑year‑old kiosk proprietor Noemí Carmen Paparelli was found on 4 November 2025 in a house at Marco Avellaneda 4300, Lanús, in the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires. Investigators determined she had been strangled with a rope tied around her neck. Initial checks showed her cash register and cellphone were still inside the kiosk, leading officers to initially rule out robbery.

Further inquiry linked the suspect to the crime through the movements of his SUBE public‑transport card, which placed him at the scene on the day of the murder. Three police raids recovered two SUBE cards, three mobile phones and the stolen glass bottle belonging to the victim. The case is being processed by UFI 7 of the Lanús courts, with prosecutor María Silvia Bussano handling the homicide charge. The suspect is expected to be questioned in the coming hours.
