Building collapse in Łódź during demolition

A portion of a decaying tenement building collapsed in the Bałuty district of Łódź, Poland, on Zgierska Street. The incident occurred around 6:00 AM during an ongoing demolition of the building's front section.

Residents living in the adjacent side wing, which remains physically connected to the structure undergoing demolition, reported hearing a massive bang followed by falling debris and dust. Witnesses noted that bricks fell onto the sidewalk and roadway. Local residents expressed fear for their safety, noting that the collapse appeared to happen spontaneously without workers present at the time.
